Operation Soccer Smiles
Through Operation Soccer Smiles, interested parties (individuals and organizations) may donate soccer balls to soldiers serving on Embedded Transition Teams (ETTs) with the Afghan National Army in Zabul Province, Afghanistan. These soccer balls will then be provided to children throughout the Zabul Province. Since the ETTs operate jointly with the Afghan National Army, Afghan soldiers will be present when balls are distributed. This will not only serve to get the ball into the hands of some of the most needy children in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, but by having the balls given to the children by fellow Afghans serving in the Afghan National Army, the children will see the balls as coming from the legitimate government of Afghanistan. This will help to promote the government in the eyes of the young people, something that we very much needed in a young democratic state like Afghanistan. more info >> |
